WACOAN, WACO'S MAGAZINE

During my first month, I noticed a discrepancy in the amount of likes every social media post was receiving, barely even 100 on most posts, even though the WACOAN’s Instagram account had over 10,000 followers. Because of this, I made it my goal to improve social media engagement while I was there. My first step in this process was to research social media tactics and write up a proposal, which I submitted to my supervisors, with various methods to increase engagement and continue to expand the reach of the WACOAN’s social media.


I began to implement this plan with my own social media posts I submitted. Eventually, I began to propose new initiatives to my supervisors, such as the Waco Weekend Recap. The idea behind this is to build upon the pre-existing Waco Weekend by engaging our base and reaching more potential followers by having people tag @wacoan and use the hashtag #wacoweekend to show us what they did that weekend. Each Monday, I would feature eight accounts’ pictures on the Waco Weekend Recap.

As a brand ambassador, I co-ran a Amazon at Baylor Twitter account to engage with Baylor students about the benefits of Amazon Prime Student and update students on events I was hosting on campus through Amazon.
